They are made with sterling silver and vitreous enamel for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish. The earrings come on solid sterling silver french hook ear wires, giving them a 1 inch drop in total.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI carved the sterling silver setting from a block of wax, then cast that wax pendant into metal and molded it so I can make multiples. The setting then gets a layer of vitreous enamel (fine glass) and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln, four separate times, to build strength and color saturation . Finally I take an illustration from my sketchbook, turn it into an enamel screen print, and fire that on the top for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish.
