Sterling Silver and 24k Gold Art Deco Style Earrings on Lever Back Ear Wires

These beautiful earrings are inspired by art deco design but have a modern feel. They are made of solid sterling silver with 24k gold leaf applied to the surface. The gold leaf is fused to the sterling silver using a traditional Korean technique called Keum-boo. In this process, 24k gold foil is burnished by hand to the surface using heat and a jade tipped tool, leaving the surface shiny, yet subtly textured. It is one of my favorite metalsmithing techniques!

The earrings are 5/8 inch tall and come on sterling silver lever back ear wires, giving them a 1 1/8 inch drop.
