Alley Cat and Star Necklace - Sterling Silver and Enamel Pendant on 24" Stainless Steel Curb Chain - Unisex Jewelry

This adorable pendant showcases a cat head bordered by fish bones on a sunny yellow background.  The solid sterling silver charm is 1 inch tall by 3/4 of an inch wide. Large enough to feel substantial, small enough to wear every day.

To make this piece I start with milled wax, then cast that wax pendant into metal and mold it so I can make multiples. The setting then gets a layer of vitreous enamel (fine glass) and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln, four separate times, to build strength and color saturation . Finally I take an illustration from my sketchbook, turn it into an enamel screen print, and fire that on the top for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish. So many steps.
