Shark Pendant crafted with Sterling Silver and Vitreous Enamel

This pendant measures one inch tall and 3/4 of an inch wide. It ships on an adjustable sterling silver chain that can be latched on any link between 16 and 20 inches.

I carved the sterling silver setting from a block of wax, then cast that wax pendant into metal and molded it so I can make multiples. The setting then gets a layer of vitreous enamel (fine glass) and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln, four separate times, to build strength and color saturation . Finally I take an illustration from my sketchbook, turn it into an enamel screen print, and fire that on the top for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish. So many steps.
