Stargazing Raccoon Necklace flips to Moonlit Rabbit - Unisex Pendant for Men and Women and Free Thinkers
This reversible Raccoon and Rabbit pendant seems to possess some magical nocturnal woodland qualities. I carved the sterling silver setting from a block of wax, then cast that wax pendant into metal and molded it so I can make multiples. Both sides of the setting then get a layer of vitreous enamel (fine glass) and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln, four separate times, to build strength and color saturation . Finally I take an illustration from my sketchbook, turn it into an enamel screen print, and fire that on the top for a durable, waterproof and vibrant finish. So many steps.
This hangs from a 22 inch stainless steel curb chain that connects with a lobster claw in the front. Just the right amount of heft to wear day and night yet it still feels substantial. I can make the chain any length.
After 25 years of designing jewelry for women I decided to dive into creating a mens line this year. My basic criteria was making pieces I would wear. I hope you enjoy them no matter where you fall on the gender spectrum.
