Sterling Silver and 24k Gold Art Deco Style Rainbow Pendant Necklace

This beautiful pendant is inspired by art deco design but has a modern feel. It is made of solid sterling silver with 24k gold leaf applied to the surface. The gold leaf is fused to the sterling silver using a traditional Korean technique called Keum-boo. In this process, 24k gold foil is burnished by hand to the surface using heat and a jade tipped tool, leaving the surface shiny, yet subtly textured.  It is one of my favorite metalsmithing techniques!

The pendant is 5/8 inch tall and wide and hangs from a 16 - 20 inch adjustable sterling silver chain.
